Modern Farmhouse
This rural Iowa homestead is oriented to allow the front porch cantilever to shade the intense summer sun while allowing the winter sun inside. The simple rectangular layout is intended to increase spatial, material, and structural efficiencies in order to reduce costs and waste. The natural sloping site to create a walk-out basement with the ability to separate the upper and lower levels for renting out or guests.
